Gift Guide for the Interior Design Lover

If you are a design lover like me, and I think you might be, then I think you are going to love this gift guide.

I’m linking to some of my favorite design accessories that are timeless but are also on trend right now. I’ve even used these in some of my own projects, as you will see below.

If you have a design lover on your list, then you can’t go wrong with these gifts for the home. I’ve grouped them according to type, so check them out and see what appeals to you.

1) White Marble Home Decor

I always say, any design accessory in white marble has the ability to elevate a look and you know will stand the test of time. I have some of my faves linked below, like this tray I used in a client’s home to display her mother’s glassware.

In this client project, we used some white marble/wood decorative objects on the bookshelves.

2) Rattan, Wicker, Jute Home Decor

If these woven goods are not having a moment in the design zeitgeist right now, then I don’t know what is!

Not only did I spot and share my finds from Lightovation 2021 in June, with rattan and jute wrapped lighting seen at many different vendor showrooms, but at Highpoint Market in October, it was out in full force!

You can’t go wrong adding in some rattan, wicker, or jute decorative items these days. From furniture, like consoles, tables and chairs to mirrors and accessories, adding in a few of these pieces will keep you right on trend for 2023.

I mean, look at those cute animal heads and the rocking horse below! Sweet gift items for a child’s room or play space.

3) White Plaster Home Decor

I feel like white plaster is here to stay, especially since I first commented on how much I was seeing with lighting and decor in 2018. I purchased even more white plaster vases and bowls for my styling stash at Highpoint Market, for photoshoots and projects.

I love this white plaster spiky planter used in one of my client projects.

I used this white plaster round side table on a shoot this past year by the fireplace. White plaster is like white marble, it goes anywhere with any kind of decor style. You can see white plaster vases and a bowl bring a light freshness with the accessories and always look good on wood tabletops.

4) brass or brass look decorative items

There is nothing like a touch of brass or gilt in a room to add a bit of warm sparkle. These items or either brass, gilded or have a brass type finish to give that shiny touch to any space.

Brass is like white marble or white plaster, it goes with anything.

5) Ginger Jars and Vases

Nothing decorates cabinet tops and bottoms like ginger jars. They often add much needed height in a decorative vignette and can be done in color and pattern to bring a lot to a space.

I used one tall ginger jar on each small console on this project recently, in the perfect shade of blue/green with a crackle finish.
