One trend I’ve been noticing, since last year at Highpoint Market, is all the new white plaster or gesso covered lighting and home decor items that are now being offered.

It certainly looks fresh, light and very appealing in a modern way.

The blank white finish causes you to focus more on the shape rather than the color and since plaster or gesso has a hand molded look to the finish, it really takes on a unique “almost done” appearance.

Your imagination is sort of left to fill in the void….to fill out the skeleton. :-)

I love that quality in design.

I was at Dallas Market in June and loved wandering around in the Interior Home + Design Center, that is now open.

There are new showrooms opening there every time I go and I visited Currey and Co., Visual Comfort, Global Views, etc., all full of some of these gorgeous products.

That tour made me just love the white plaster / gesso covered idea all over again.

I used this chandelier in a dining room project recently. So happy with how it turned out. :-)
