I’ve got more new finds here today to share with you from the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show 2022. I was so glad to find some of these as they will work on some of my projects right now as well as in the future!
Vessel Sinks
See that photo above? It shows exactly the kind of vessel sink trend I’ve been seeing for the last few years and it is definitely what you should be looking at if you are selecting a vessel for your new bathroom.
No more “salad bowls” in the bathroom! Those were hard to clean underneath anyway, right?
The ones I’m loving now were seen all over the show, these chunkier look vessels with straight sides and flat bottoms, in a round, oval or a soft rectangle shape.
These colorful sinks are made of a special concrete that has a stain resistant finish. Loved their matte look and the colors available, from Konkretus Home.
Shower floors
These shower floors were from Duplach Group, but I saw several from other European companies. These are about 1 1/2” thick, have a slope to the integrated drain, and are textural so there is good traction. I really love the fact that there is no grout!
Of course, many times we need custom sizes so that it fits within the existing bathroom space with maximum room for a large shower, but this looks like a really good easy-to-maintain option for a shower floor. They look good in person too!
Bistro shelving
Bistro shelving is becoming so popular these days. I’m doing some on two jobs right now. I loved seeing this brand, Fittings Metal Collection, in person. The joinery is really sleek and they have some nice matte finishes.
Metal Cabinets
This metal cabinetry from John Michael was so beautiful! I loved learning about this brand and seeing how they mix metal finishes and construct their cabinets to be used indoors and out.
Cabinet Organization and Storage
Rev-a-shelf is a great source for cabinet storage organization. This junk drawer organizer was quite popular in my Instagram reels. You can see how it operates there, as I put up a video.
Here’s a device charging drawer with an outlet in the back. You can see how the outlet is connected through the clear acrylic cabinet box in the photo.
This bathroom vanity drawer now has a cut-off switch built into the unit, so that if you happen to shut the drawer with the curling iron or hair straightener plugged in there is a safety feature that shuts down the power. If something is plugged in and the lid on that outlet is up, you can’t shut the drawer, but if the lid was ever removed, they wanted to make sure there was an extra safety measure.
This was a cool kitchen product, the chopping board with a hole in it and the trash can below. It could be your compost bin below there if you desire!
This cabinet organization was also new, it works on tall cabinets, particularly over a refrigerator, or wall ovens. It’s a pull out that lets you reach the deeper part of that cabinet.
Glass Shower Enclosures
Looking for a modern look in your bathroom? Try this black framed shower enclosure look from Kohler.
The grid is integrated in the glass, so there are no “mullions” to get in the way of a squeegee when cleaning the glass doors. This comes in different sizes, including a 70” high and 75” high model that fits a shower-only enclosure.
Textural Cabinet Panels
I’m always looking for ways to make plain cabinetry more interesting. These mesh patterns from Designs of Distinction come in textural caning and woven patterns (so popular now) as well as metal finishes. It’s a great way to get airflow into a media cabinet or to add texture to a boring run of cabinets.
Cabinet Door Styles
Shaker cabinets are still popular but I can see brands trying to offer up different options and I think people are starting to look for something a bit different.
This option below, from Fabuwood, has a traditional look with the moulding, but a flat panel is used. In years past, this style would have had a raised panel for a more traditional look. This strikes a design note somewhere in between, which is nice.
This mini shaker style is also popular.
There is definitely a trend toward something in between traditional and contemporary.
Indoor Herb Garden
This indoor hydroponic herb and veggie garden from Natufia was getting attention. Grow your own herbs right in your own home! The environment is perfectly suited for growing fresh herbs and plants and waters them with a drip system automatically.
Wood Cabinets
Lastly, I felt like I saw more wood cabinetry than in years past. There were two tone looks too, a combination of wood and painted, etc. These wood cabinet samples below were from Wellborn.
A bathroom vanity at Kohler features modern details and a neutral oak wood finish.
The Café Appliances booth had some really remarkable kitchen vignettes mixing in wood cabinetry.
