One of the side trips we did in LA at Design Bloggers Conference last week was a trip to Hollywood at Home, Peter Dunham's gorgeous home furnishings shop.
Oh my, what a treat! I'm going to shut up here (well, a little bit) and let you just oggle this most unusual mix of vintage and new, colorful and neutral, prints and textures, natural wood and leather.
Peter Dunham is a mix-master and we all loved his casual, California look!
Some of us actually almost fainted with delight when we walked in, like designer, Rachel Moriarty. :-) She thought she'd gone to heaven!
This floral wallpaper below, made by a local artist, was so vivid and colorful. It provided such a graphic backdrop for the original art and vintage seating.
Every vignette has a collected vibe with lots of texture and handmade pieces by various artists. The lamps are made by a local ceramicist. :-)
My personal favorite vignette involved high contrast and texture. I just did an onyx bowl in a client's home that I bought at Dallas market. See? I'm so on point. ;-)
Be still my heart! White marble, rush back chairs, handmade ceramics, natural weed-like fresh greens.....this is very me.
Love the mix of pattern here and the masculine vibe.
Peter Dunham textiles hung in the back alcoves, ready to play with in different combinations.
Lovely textiles used in blankets and throws all stack up so nicely on the shelves. There are more of those handmade ceramic lamps.
Love, love, love this super long onyx bowl filled with moss. And more California native greenery tossed casually into vase. Of course, a live edge table is always a good thing.
There was a gorgeous little outdoor space in the back. True to California, the doors were open, a slight breeze was flowing in and out with perfect temps, the citrus hung ripe from the potted trees, and really, what back garden wouldn't be complete without a marble mantel?
Wouldn't you love to come and lunch out here?
We were treated to a lovely buffet and well, I can't wait to visit again. You'll have to check it out yourself to appreciate these interesting furnishings and combinations.
Make it a stop on your next visit to LA. :-)
Want to see some of the other places I visit when I get out to LA? They're featured below.
This home has so many cool places to lounge, live, work and play, you will find yourself craving that California indoor-outdoor lifestyle, no matter what part of the world you are from.
