High Point Market Trends - Come See What I Spotted!

October 31, 2026 in Color, Decorating, Custom Furnishings, Furniture, Products

I’m just back from High Point Market and I have some interior design trends to share!

This market was all about traditional style, warmth and detail. While there is always something for everyone, the “modern organic” look was not very prevalent this time.

These two main trends I’m sharing today have been brewing for awhile. If you followed my posts last fall, like this post on color trends and this one about a new style emerging, you will see I’ve mentioned them before.

Traditional Style

I saw more traditionally styled furniture this market than I have in the past as new intros. Less big, bulky, curvy shapes on furniture and more finely detailed upholstery and casegoods.

A striking display of traditional design elements in the Uttermost showrom.

Traditional styling was much more prevalent this market.

Furniture with smaller, finely crafted details in more traditional styles were prevalent.

Cute little trad desk and chair in the Woodbridge showroom.

This traditional Highland House dining chair was upholstered in the most popular color of this market, green!

A trad dining chair displayed front and center in the Hickory Chair showroom with tassles.

In the Sherrill showroom, this traditionally styled chair looks quite different from the large, bulbous shapes we’ve seen in the recent past.

Case goods and tables are getting traditional looks too.

Loved the open brass grid on the doors on this piece from Uttermost.

Chelsea House introduced a secretary desk.

Rich look cabinet with brass details from Chaddock.

Beautiful table with inlaid wood from Wildwood. This would make a lovely center hall table.

Remember when I reported “Grandma Chic” was an up and coming trend last fall after market? Well, it’s here.

There were lots of florals on upholstery items, on wallpaper and a good amount of fringe too! Skirted upholstery, table skirts with pleats, ruffles and trim were seen everywhere.

I do feel like the Grandma Chic style was mixed in with more modern pieces, making it feel more on trend and not just….old.

This sofa reminds me so of a Grandma chic style, but doesn’t it look comfy? Sherrill Furniture

More large scale floral and a fringed tailored chair. That little round pillow looks rather vintage too! Highland House

Here’s a Grandma Chic styled sofa for sure, cabbage roses, fringe, and a ruffled edge pillow. Fabricut showroom

I saw this type of shade everywhere, inverted on lamps and in various sizes as pendants. I think it has a “Grandma Chic” aesthetic and I imagine I’ll see a lot more when I head to the Lightovation show in Dallas in January.

A bold, modern rug played off the very traditional look of this sofa upholstered in a fabric with florals and ribbons. Jessica Charles Showroom

Traditional details that lend themselves to a Grandma Chic style in the Hickory Chair showroom.

This rather clean-lined chair was softened with a small floral print fabric. Highland House

The ruffled skirt, fringe on the sofa, pleated lamp shades and traditional coffee table are juxtaposed with contemporary art. Chaddock showroom

The small patterned fabric, ruffled skirt and fringe carry that Grandma Chic style. Wesley Hall showroom

Warm colors

Even though you see many color palettes at market, warm, dark colors were popular in showrooms. I saw so much green, brown and caramel.

I have to say, if you’re going to go bold with green, I prefer an olive tone, a classic hunter green or a bluer pine green to sage. Sage sort of feels washed out and almost like a neutral to me.

I like the color of this sofa below, but then velvet always displays color in a much deeper, richer fashion.

I loved the leather/mohair combination on this sofa in the Chaddock showroom.

Green and brown traditional looks in the Wesley Hall showroom.

I loved this olive green velvet sofa from Hickory Chair that stood out in their front room as a big color statement.

The Thibaut showroom had this vignette with such a lovely warm vibe using greens and caramel.

This showroom had a liberal use of green and brown.

A caramel velvet small scaled sofa with green lamps and lampshades in the Chelsea House showroom.

Warm gold velvet in front of that sage green wall with a tapestry and fringed pillows. I’d say traditional style was back! Norwalk Showroom

Dark pine green in the Hickory Chair showroom.

One of my fave showrooms to visit is Highland House, known for their beautifully upholstered furniture and the use of soft, pastel wall colors in their showroom. Everyone always wants to know what colors they use, so much so that they even print out a list.

This is the first time I’ve seen a major room at the front of their showroom go dark, with a rich chocolate brown gloss. It was dramatic and says a lot about the dark color trend these days.

A kitchen cabinetry company displayed a very tradtional look in olive green with a maroon colored range.

A crocheted throw adds a homey feel in this vignette. So fun!

I’ve got another post I’ll be publishing next week that highlights even more from High Point Market!

Here are my posts from last High Point Market if you want to see how they’ve leaned into these trends over the year.
