I’m just back from Highpoint Market and still going over my photos to make sense of everything I saw. I’m here to share lots of design inspo with you today and in a few more posts to follow.
This post is really about the overall prevailing design aesthetic that I believe dominated, showing up in some form or fashion in so many showrooms.
While there is something for everyone at Highpoint and all kinds of styles and looks, this one seems most of-the-moment.
Curvy Organic Modern
It appeared some years ago, as a bit of a nod to the 80’s. I think I first noticed it being shown at Highpoint in 2018. The curvy organic modern look really took hold and it is still going strong. You’re seeing it in retail everywhere now, and it looks like it will be around a bit longer.

Organic ceramic shapes in mobiles seen at the new Shoppe Object showroom. Artists: Duo Luto. I think these would be great in one of the tall two story circular staircases many of the big suburban homes have around in my area. One cool hook at the top and hang them, stairstep fashion up the wall.

I don’t think you need to go all in with this organic curvy look on everything, but a few softer elements in a room might be just what you need to give your room a refresh. :-)
I have lots more to share from this spring show, so look out for my next blogpost.
