I’m sharing a few more perfect gifts for the budding interior designer today, if you happen to have one on your Christmas gift list this year.
I shared the first version of this gift list a few years ago and people found it helpful……even my son, who was looking for a Christmas gift for me.
He just googled and surprisingly got that post in his search!
I ended up with a beautiful new bag for Christmas that was a perfect gift. I’ve used that bag to bits!
Gifts For the studio
So, I’ve got a few more must-have items that any interior designer might want in their home, office or tote bag, to help them move their business where they want it to go.
Here’s a glimpse of my studio now, below. I downsized back to my home and we built out a studio in my garage this year and I love it!
These are some of the items I’m finding I can’t live without, in my more streamlined studio space.
First, is that fantastic sit/stand desktop workstation with a gas spring lift for my computer, so I can stand while working.
I was worried it might be hard to raise, but I’ve got so many electronics that need to be plugged in, I didn’t want one more electrical device that had to go into an outlet.
The lift system works so smoothly and even with my fractured wrist I can raise and lower by myself. :-)
I am just starting to use my wobble board too, as my wrist is still healing and I don’t want to take any chances with losing my balance, but so far, I love it too.
Anything to get this design blogger off her seat and moving is a good thing!
The last thing I added this fall was two of the floating shelves from Crate and Barrel. My husband said they were actually easy to install and he never says that!
They are the perfect size for my markers and for propping up that gorgeous California pic from my daughter.
I really like the charcoal finish as it works with my desktop color and, well, I’m fussy about my whites all working together and didn’t want to mess with something coming in that was off, color-wise.
Gifts For On The Go
Although I do most of my measuring with my handy Fat Max tape, most people in this biz are using the Bosch measuring device for getting critical onsite dimensions in a fast and accurate way.
Many of the contractors and estimators I know use this and they really like it.
I have this 10’ tangle-free charging cable and it comes in the most popular color of all the design world this year, pink! (Also in charcoal for designers like me that like to be more neutral. :-)
Here’s a great faux leather tote bag made by the same company that made the fave bag my son got me two years ago. It comes in the season’s most popular print…..leopard!
Hint, hint!
Lastly, we can’t forget to say thank you.
Some colorful cards for thanking all those wonderful clients for being so fun to work with….
