I’m sharing a few lovely bedside decor moments today from recent projects, as I pack up for High Point Market, the big twice yearly furniture show in North Carolina.
I’ve got bedrooms on the brain
I’m thinking about how a well designed and tidy bedroom can keep you sane, calm, and safe…..after I tumbled over in my bedroom in the middle of the night, a few days ago and fractured my left wrist!
Let’s just say there was an inordinant amount of pillows scattered round :-\, and an ottoman that was supposed to be pushed up against a lounge chair, that happened to be in my way when I rounded the bed, blindly, in the dark.
I am soooo excited my trip wasn’t derailed and I found out I didn’t need a pin or plate, just a high-tech cast for some weeks, to get me back to normal!
I recommend storing your bedroom decorative pillows at night off the floor :- )
Ouch! It was more painful than I imagined though and I recommend a chair or end-of-bed-bench with storage (my next purchase) for all those pillows, instead of the floor. :-/
(I hope my clients don’t consider this a reason for no decorative bedroom pillows, because that would kinda break my pillow-loving heart.)
So, after a few purchases of stretchie clothing items and slide on shoes that will handle the miles trekking around High Point and slightly easier one-handed dressing, I’m back on track to see the best new home furnishings coming soon to market. Yay!
High Point Furnishings Market
I’ll be touring the Aspire Showhouse in High Point Friday morning with other press, hitting all the beautiful showrooms I can, having dinner with some of the fab people from Monogram Appliances one night at a special event, and so much more!
Many of my designer friends have talks, tours and meet ups that I will be racing around trying to attend and I am looking forward to sharing it all with you, Design Lovers!
Look for my pics on Instagram in my stories. You might just see your next perfect furniture purchase rolling through my feed!
You’ll no doubt see some beautiful design, just like I’m sharing below. :-)
Need help on judging the height needed for your nightstands? I’ve got a post for that right here.
If you've purchased a new bed recently, then you might have noticed that your old nightstand might not be tall enough anymore.
