I’m currently working on a project where we want to visually connect an indoor room -- a breakfast/sitting room -- with an outdoor space.
In this room, a bi-fold window-wall will open up to the covered patio, inviting the outdoors in. We'll visually connect the two areas as one by running the same brick flooring used on the exterior patio into the interior room.
This room connects the main house and the garage with it's upstairs loft, so it's a natural place to make the "break" in floor material and relate the outdoor space to the structure and property.
As you can imagine, the room is going to read both as indoor and out - or, rather, as patio and loggia. There will be little bit of everything to enjoy in one space.
And the brick flooring is the perfect material to make that transition. Don’t you agree?
I'm loving some of these examples of brick flooring below.
