While I’ve mentioned before that you can see it all at High Point Market, there are all kinds of styles and colors, you do tend to notice a color trend after walking around awhile.
As it did last market and the year before, warm colors are definitly dominating the scene overall. Here are the ones that stood out to me.
Browns
There were lots of brown walls in various showrooms. Brown upholstered pieces and brown woods are part of the dark, moody vibe that many interiors are leaning these days.
Chocolate brown walls and espresso furniture in the Gabby showroom.
Chocolate brown leather chairs at Wesley Hall.
Modern browns in the Caracole showroom.
Brown velvet drapes and brown wood furniture at Theodore Alexander.
Brown wallcovering and art show up in the Thibaut showroom.
Here’s an interesting mix of traditional and more clean lined furniture in this brownish room.
Chocolate brown velvet sofa from Chaddock.
We used this dark emperador brown marble a lot back in the 80’s when I was designing back then.
Rust and Caramel
There were a lot of rust and caramel tones, like there has been at recent markets. Less terracotta-ish to me than before, and more blatantly rust.
Rust tones shine at the Dovetail showroom.
Warm tones in this vignette at Gabby.
This rich rust velvet stood out with gold velvet pillows in the Highland House showroom.
Olive green and rust in the Gabby showroom.
An all creamy white vignette in the Theodore Alexander showroom with a rust colored punch on the chair and pillows.
Longhorn orange makes a bold statement in this dining room vignette at Sherrill.
Olive Green
This masculine room in Hickory Chair had the moody dark olive green walls that are all over Instagram right now.
Fab new chair from Phoebe Howard in an olive green velvet.
Jewel Tones Emerging
While these vignettes look pretty, I’m not sure this is my favorite palette. I think it is because I’m older and remember it from years ago, but I think it does appeal to a lot of color lovers out there. I do love a bold peacock and a rich burgandy, just not so much in the same room. :-)
This jewel toned space, complete with a flamestitch pattern harkens back to the past, right?
This jewel toned room is made fresh and up to date with the addition of that olive green cut velvet ottoman.
A dark, rich turquoise velvet greeted me at the entry to the Hickory Chair showroom.
Burgandy or Claret
I actually expected to see more burgandy or claret colors, although they were there. I really like a rich eggplant color too. (Laying low for now, but I expect more of them in upcoming years. :-)
These flowers in the Thibaut showroom just stole the show. It made me want more of this color.
Did you miss my other High Point Market posts from this recent trip? I’ve linked them below.
While velvet fabrics were all over many upholstery furniture pieces at Highpoint at this recent fall market, there were other upholstery details that deserve pointing out. Come and see more of my finds. (BTW, skirts are making a big comeback!)
