Have a look at more pics from Highpoint Market and some of the upholstery trends I saw.
Bouclé was seen, but not as much as in the past. (After all, it is in the big box stores now, so not really new anymore.)
I didn’t see so many giant sectionals like I did in 2021 either, but this time I hit up two upholstery showrooms that I didn’t get to last time and opted to pass on two others that I usually see. I think sectionals can still be good for certain layouts and purposes, but I’d always rather have more furniture options than just a big sectional in a room.
These 3 trends are showing up more these days.
Floral fabrics on upholstery were seen in a few more traditional showrooms.
Details, trims and skirts on upholstery seemed on the rise.
Flanges, flanges, flanges!

Vintage Sofa
Everything old is new again!
I can’t resist sharing a photo of a vintage sofa I took in the Antique & Design Center at Highpoint Market. This sooo reminds me of the homes of my youth!

This bullion fringe trim dressed up some otherwise simple, neutral upholstered pieces. I thought it a bit unusual to see the fringe on a track arm sofa, but I do like it! To me, that is a fresh look.

These are interesting chaise lounges I saw last market in the Rowe showroom. Then, I couldn’t think how I’d ever use them, since they are so big and low to the ground.
After seeing them this market, I think they would work in a big loft type space that was sort of a game room / overflow sleeping area. A space with a sloped, low ceiling would be perfect.
Oh, and they have a big jumbo welt!

This beautiful vignette in the Thibaut showroom featured a skirted ottoman with trim and then a skirted chair with short box pleats. Very trad looking and oh-so-lovely. Highpoint Market | carlaaston.com
Flanged edges
Flanged edges seemed really popular, on everything from a tailored pillow edge to a leather or hair on hide chair. I think it gives a more casual look to upholstery.

I have lots of gorgeous images of beautiful products seen at Highpoint Market Fall 2022 this last weekend. I visited at least 40 showrooms or booths and found a few trends I’d like to share.
The one I was most curious about was color. Would there be a specific color trend this market?
