I just returned from Dallas Market and was perusing my photos, noticing an abundance of images with this piece of home decor…..
….the bust!
The bust, or some form of faces on vases or sculpture, are really having a moment in decorating.
They’ve been around forever, of course, and I know designers have used them for years to create a grand and historical look in their decorating. Now they are popping up everywhere with traditional looks and even more whimsical options.

Here’s a showroom from Highpoint Market a few years ago. This vignette designed by Jakob Lucas Design, was so striking.

Here’s another bust at the entry hall table. They do make such nice styling pieces.

Take a look at some of the busts or vases with faces I saw at market this summer. How many faces do you see in this photo below, from the Global Views showroom?

More busts and faces from Global Views. I think it is their theme this year, after seeing the Highpoint showroom back in April.

Currey and Co. had a whimsical take on busts and vases with faces, as well as a more traditional look.
These are funny and interesting from Currey and Co. I can’t seem to come up with how I would ever use them, but I’m guessing it might have to be a special meaning for someone. :-) carlaaston.com

We popped over to Benny Jack’s Antiques in the Dallas Design District and found some more classic concrete busts and faces.

Lastly, I’ll finish up here with this guy I found at Round Top this spring. No, he didn’t come home with me.
Something about those perfectly formed teeth and the look in his eyes makes me really uncomfortable! carlaaston.com
