During our last visit to California, we stayed a few days in this cute tiny house Airbnb in the heart of Los Angeles, near my daughter’s apartment.
It was handy, clean, comfortable and just what we needed after having Christmas in a cabin in Big Bear. We took my daughter back to her place and then came over here to spend a couple more nights to meet her boyfriend and have a few nice meals out.
This was a darling place and we’d definitely stay here again.
Quiet neighborhood Ambience
The streets of LA are just crazy, but when you get off the main roads, these quiet little neighborhoods are charming with their bungalows and cottages and even some modern remodeled homes.
I do love driving these streets and checking out the unique plants, curb appeal and colors that they use there. It’s so different from our suburb, outside of Houston, where everything looks mostly the same. :-/
This was in Culver City, very close to shops, dining and my daughter’s apartment.
This is the third such property we’ve stayed at like this in the area, a tiny home built behind the main home on the property. Apparently they do this a lot in LA!
There were two tiny homes behind the main house here, and there was a shared outdoor garden space that was ample sized for different groups of people.
You park on the street and then head down the driveway to the back yard. Once in the gate, this patio greeted us with bikes we could use while we here.
Bikes ready for tiny house renters to use.
You enter the gate there in the back corner to get the entrances. Our tiny home was at the back of the yard.
Our cute little tiny house!
It felt like an old cottage that was refurbished, but it could have not been that old. I liked the painted paneling here and simple furnishings.
Tiny home living room with full size sofa and shiplap paneling.
Believe it or not, even though these are all over the place in home decor, I’ve never specified or used a little table this tiny before.
It was helpful, as I’ve always thought that it would tip over easily, but it was pretty sturdy and stayed put.
The perfect place for a tiny table to perch your glass or coffee cup!
Never too tiny for a flat screen tv.
You walked from the living room into the kitchen that was good sized with normal size appliances. My daughter was jealous of the size, the dishwasher and washer/dryer!
Cute white kitchen with a vintage look.
Behind the curtain is the bedroom. No room for a door!
This window with the tile countertops reminded me of my grandmother’s home from way back when.
Then the kitchen led into the bedroom and the bathroom beyond that.

Tiny House Garden
The garden was really an extension of the home which was nice. You’ve got great California weather, so it was lovely out there.
Love the flower mural they used here. It’s just has such a happy vibe.
I just love a firepit at a vacation rental property, especially in California where the weather is perfect.
Dual soaking tubs if you care for a plunge!

We are heading back to California soon, to San Diego, meeting our kids and their significant others. We have another nice vacation rental booked there and I’ll be sharing that later this summer. :-)
Have a look at a few of the vacation rental properties we’ve stayed at in the last year or so.

After spending a few days in a cozy cabin in the woods in Big Bear Lake, California, I’ve been researching the popular cabincore design trend. I’m ready to get one of my own and outfit it in this style myself!
