After spending a few days in a cozy cabin in the woods in Big Bear Lake, California, I’ve been researching the popular cabincore design trend.
I have always fantasized about having our own cabin in the mountains. A big rock fireplace, lots of wood and slate, big picture windows that open to a gorgeous view, comfy leather furniture, woolly throws, colorful warm toned rugs, some William and Morris wallpaper, a Craftsman look stained glass window, a warm and cozy kitchen….I could go on and on. I’m dreaming again!
I think this is the place to get a little kitschy with decor too. After all, you come to a cabin to play, relax, rest and have fun. :-)
Well, it is nice to be able to rent a cozy cabin these days and pretend like it is yours. Right?
This one we stayed in fit the aesthetic I wanted to experience.

My daughter took this pic, below, from the ski slope, it’s a really pretty place.
This is definitely the vibe of the town. Fun!
I’ve done a little internet linking below to some fun home decor that just has “cabincore” written all over it. Perfect for this design aesthetic that has me ready to move to the mountains!
