After spending a few days in a cozy cabin in the woods in Big Bear Lake, California, I’ve been researching the popular cabincore design trend.
I have always fantasized about having our own cabin in the mountains. A big rock fireplace, lots of wood and slate, big picture windows that open to a gorgeous view, comfy leather furniture, woolly throws, colorful warm toned rugs, some William and Morris wallpaper, a Craftsman look stained glass window, a warm and cozy kitchen….I could go on and on. I’m dreaming again!
I think this is the place to get a little kitschy with decor too. After all, you come to a cabin to play, relax, rest and have fun. :-)
Well, it is nice to be able to rent a cozy cabin these days and pretend like it is yours. Right?
This one we stayed in fit the aesthetic I wanted to experience.

We would have loved wood flooring in this cabin instead of carpet, but overall, we loved this design aesthetic for a mountain cabin. carlaaston.com
My daughter took this pic, below, from the ski slope, it’s a really pretty place.
