Crypton Fabrics Rule! Crypton fabric is fast becoming our go-to choice for upholstery fabrics.

December 13, 2017 in Custom Furnishings, Furniture, Products, Trending

Clients these days are looking for fabrics for interiors that stand up to kids, dogs, and all kinds of every day living. People want stain resistance, durability, and they want their upholstery fabrics to feel and look good!

I'm loving how technology is seeping into design to make products more durable. Crypton fabrics are great options for upholstery and we have more and more choices available to us as time goes on. I'm hoping/predicting that we'll see even more options coming out next year.

I remember when Crypton fabrics were first introduced years ago. The fabric was stiff and there was a very limited selection, mostly solids.

Now, the fabrics have a luxurious hand and there are many more options that make them a good design choice for our projects. Even well known blogger, Justina Blakeney, has her own line of Crypton fabrics now. She is known for her tropical boho look.

Take a look at how we've used crypton fabrics recently.

This chair was reupholstered in Crypton fabric, the pillow is Crypton as well.

This great statement pattern is a Crypton fabric we had upholstered on a new wingback chair from one of our local vendors, Houston Upholstery.

Barstools are the perfect place for Crypton fabric because of the amount of use they get.

Crypton fabric here replaced a linen fabric that stained and showed signs of wear and tear.

These cool "X" base ottomans are upholstered in a Crypton fabric, made custom for a client by one of our local vendors, Creative Style Furniture.

Especially if you are wanting light colored upholstery, Crypton is a good pick for durability and stain resistance.

Don't want to deal with a designer to get some Crypton in your home?

I've got some links to furniture upholstered in Crypton treated fabrics from some online vendors. I always suggest getting samples or cutting of upholstery fabrics, because colors aren't always represented well on screen. Then, you can test the fabric yourself for stain resistance.

Never heard of Crypton? Here's a link to their FAQs.

And here's a link to a video that shows more about these performance fabrics.

BTW, if you are not seeing the images in my post coming here from my email, please let me know. I've had a complaint about that and although everything checks out okay here on my end, I would like to know if it is a problem for more of you? Thank you for letting me know. If you have a problem with the images posting, please either comment below or you can email me at carla@carlaaston.com.
