I’m sharing two secondary bathroom design plans today, recently done for a new build project I’m working on in the Texas hill country area.
I just love how they look and can’t wait to see them built out. We have a long way to go on this project as they haven’t broken ground yet, but these are super nice clients, a young family, and it has been fun to plan their forever home with them.
I’m getting some renderings done of some of the bigger spaces, so I’ll post those once they are ready. The design work has mostly all been done for the architectural except for some minor things and any last changes here and there.
You know, availability of products and materials, shipping, etc., are all coming into play these days!
These smaller spaces just have some design boards put together for now, but I can’t resist sharing them.
This home is a “modern Tudor” style, it’ll be white overall, stucco and stone, with a dark roof, black windows and steel and glass front door. There’s an impressive entry, a dramatic gallery hall and a large living room/kitchen area that will have a vaulted ceiling. It’s really going to be a gorgeous home set in a beautiful wooded area.
Guest bathroom
We’ve gone with painted cabinets in all areas of the home and here, I just decided it was time to bring in some wood. I like black and white, but really, I love it when there is a nice wood finish in the mix to warm it up.
This wood tone closely matches the wood flooring that will be used out in the hallway and through the house.
The tile I proposed is a black limestone (really more gray if it doesn’t get “enhanced” in the sealing process, which I don’t think I do). I want to lay it in a basketweave type pattern on the floor, 3 tiles x 3 tiles, and then run it vertically in the shower and on the wall above the vanity.
We’ll use a white Caesarstone countertop, Calacatta Nuvo, black plumbing fixtures and cabinet pulls, and black or maybe black with a bit of brass on the sconce.
Here is a pic of the real samples. We were considering a black honed granite, but I like the brightness of the white Caesarstone.
Boy’s Bathroom
This is a boy’s bathroom, the homeowner loves navy and I do too!
I am obsessed with this smallish porcelain hex tile from Ann Sacks for the floor. I love that it is white, but has a very realistic distressed look, almost like a Saltillo that’s been whitewashed. This is the Texas hill country after all, we don’t want things to be too pristine. :-)
It will look nice and crisp with navy cabinets, more of the white Caesarstone quartz, and then a glossy white long subway with gray grout for the tub surround.
A satin brass on the plumbing fixtures, lighting and hardware adds color and brightness. I love that arched mirror and we’ll do two of those sconces on each side at the top of the arch. It’s a rather narrow vanity, so this will be a good lighting solution.
Here are the real samples, below.
