I’m currently finishing up a design for a new construction project, a house that has the classic charm of a traditional foursquare home.
However, this new house won’t be a true classically designed foursquare, because we’re adding some modern elements that will bring a little trendiness and wow to the party - elements such as: cool lighting; some modern, large-scaled subway tile; contemporary plumbing fixtures; and some additional unique touches here and there.
Read about another project of mine that was a true classic, a 100+ year old foursquare HERE and HERE.
However, to harken back to the original concept, I’ve mixed in vintage tile floors in a few of the bathrooms. To me, it grounds the design, speaks back to the historical roots of the house, and gives such a great base for those rooms.
Today I’m sharing our design plan of the upstairs apartment, a space that's a bit more contemporary than the main house. It’s a place to play a bit, to have a party. It will have a pool table, a big wide-open kitchen/entertaining space, and this:
A sweet little bathroom ;-)
With some white Silestone ledges and Duravit plumbing fixtures, this little bathroom will have a great mix of vintage and modern.
