I’ve always been partial to blue: rich, dark, bold blue. Usually though, cobalt is my favorite.
Yes, a bold blue is just about the only color that shows up on my pinboard of “My Style” favorites.
However, this year, I’m thinking that a shade of indigo might be what’s up for Pantone's "Color of the Year".
Last year, my projection for what Pantone’s "Color of the Year" would be was totally wrong.
I would have never guessed Radiant Orchid. Actually, I’m still kind of wondering about that one. There aren’t that many products / fabrics out there in this hue to design with — not even now, almost a year after it was announced. And trust me: I know — I’ve looked!
I was correct with my 2013 projection. I was totally on target with emerald green. I’m hoping I’ll be spot on again this year. I’m predicting that indigo — cobalt’s slightly less purple cousin — will be it!
We have to wait till December to find out. Thankfully though, we don’t have to wait to begin enjoying this gorgeous color now, in any type of scheme, and in any style.
See below to understand why indigo blue is soooo hot!
