California Project And Some Christmas Cheer For You!

December 27, 2017 in Blogging, Custom Furnishings, Remodeling, Holiday, Fun

I've been blogging here on this site since 2012 and never missed an entire week like I did last week. I still can't believe it.

I'm sure you were busy with the holidays, but I wanted to wish all of you, my readers, a happy holiday season! I also wanted to give you a quick peek at one of my next projects as well as a few more pics of a recent installation.

Right before we took our break, we installed some custom furniture on a job.

This dining room is turning out beautifully. We still have a few more items to install.

I headed out to Los Angeles to take a look at a remodel job I'll be working on out there. I'm just doing the conceptual work, they will have an architect and other appropriate professionals to get them all situated with codes and some structural work they want to do.

I am excited about the big transformation this home will have though. It's a true California style with a great view, a clay tile roof, and an atrium! We're going to gut just about everything here and open the house up focusing on the views, upgrading finishes, fixtures, and cabinetry, etc.

Here are a few of the before pics:

Yes, we will likely be filling in the sunken floor and installing one flooring material in all the open areas.

I stayed at The Culver Hotel as my daughter lives fairly near there now. It's a historic property with some classic features like marble floors, paneling, and a little bit of Hollywood glam. I loved the touches of red they added for Christmas decor.

Finally, after getting back the day before Christmas, I set my table and we had a quiet Christmas at home.

Well, we aren't really that quiet. :-) There was lots of game playing, cooking, and toasting. My son does have the loudest voice on the planet, I believe! My daughter-in-law made these lovely spritz cookies and they were perfect!

The biggest surprise I had was a gift I received from them.

I opened this big box and there was a nice handbag inside, the same handbag that I had included on my Gift Guide for an Interior Designer this year!

My son doesn't ever really go to my blog ;-), he said he just googled "gifts for interior designers" and guess what popped up? My blogpost, on the first page. He scrolled through the post, clicked on the link I provided and I got my favorite bag for my Christmas gift!

Now that was a HUGE blog win for me! :-))))))

Hoping your holiday was perfect for you.....
