This homeowner has done a lot to make this space a fun and sophisticated game room, primarily for her grandkids.
She has new furnishings and did some custom cushions on the storage bench, etc. It is all very nicely done, but there is this big blank wall that is in question.
Well, I’ve done some online shopping and have some options for this room today!

Game Room Photos
Let’s see these photos, it is an enclosed room with a pocket door.
There used to be a pool table in this room and the chairs are left over from a corner pub table that was here. She wanted to know whether to keep or really what to do here on this side of the room.
As I was working on this I just kept thinking that painting this room might make the wall decor more impactful. However, I’m going to work this with the wall color staying as is and then the wall color changing to a darker color. :-)
Option One - Game Room Blank Wall
If the walls stay as is, with this neutral beige tone, then the wall decor needs to be bold, in my opinion.
The wall is 8’ high x 16’ long, from the top of the pillows up to the ceiling, so the art will really need to be in multiples here.
I’m not a fan of the random gallery wall look here because the bench is so long and repetitive, I’d rather the art also read that way.
I found these 3 pieces that bring in a strong blue. They are large and modern, like the furnishings here. They are 39.5” x 39.5”, so will fit the space nicely.
I mocked it up to get a better look. I think these have a sophisticated vibe.
Option Two - Game Room Blank Wall
For the next option, I decided to look for art that was lighter and brighter. Finding multiples that are the size, color and motif you want can be really challenging!
These pieces are 61” h x 49” wide, so quite large.
For either of these two options above, I like something like this for the opposite wall.
I felt like it needed a chest of some kind and some more art. A plant in the corner would be nice since there are several windows and there is open space there. I toyed with doing a game table over here, but then the rug might have to be cut down, which could be done, but I just thought I’d offer this option.
I really like this old trunk look, to add something like a vintage element in the room. I do like the succulent art too, it presents a bold pop of color on this side of the room and works with either of the art selections above.
That trunk is from Pottery Barn, but you could get an old real vintage trunk. I just like the idea of it being quite tall and on metal legs.
Option Three - Game Room Blank Wall
In this last version, I went for more budget friendly wall decor, but by the time you paint, which is what I’d really my preference for this room, it might all work out the same.
I went with these handwoven willow wheel art pieces, as they cover a lot of territory on the wall and can make a real statement. The only problem is that beige on beige is not going to show up at all. If these were used, a darker paint would create contrast and have a big impact.
The two sizes for these are 48” diameter and 30” diameter. I think this looks fun!
For the opposite wall, in the blue room, I would do a light piece of furniture and a piece of art that had some white in it, like these.
I think this blue room looks fun and purposefully designed. :-)\
