When I did a room in the ASID Holiday Showhouse some years ago, I was one of the only designers to go with live, fresh greens.
Most of the 18 designers decorated their rooms in faux greenery and they did a beautiful job.
Here were some of those pics from the holiday decor there.

I decided to go with fresh greens because I wanted that fresh cut aroma.
I did not plan any window treatment for this arched window, because the previous treatment had really blocked the light in this room. This room was naturally dark and tucked back under the stairs of the house, felt a little cave-like. I sort of played that up with my dark walls, but I really wanted to pull in as much natural light as possible.
I did not want the window to look bare though, and decided to do an oversized live wreath for the window "decor" to go with my little live tree that I planned for the room.

It turned out just the way I wanted and the room filled with the aromatic scent of fresh cut evergreens which greeted you when you entered the room. You can see all the final pics HERE.
For the first time in a lot of years, I did a real tree for Christmas in my own house. I loved it! It was really nice to get that fresh look and scent and not worry about 10 years of dust brought in from the attic with that fake tree. My old faux tree was shedding faster than a fresh one!
It wasn't easy finding the right greens for my showhouse room and I ended up at a local nursery that was off the beaten path to find my oversized wreath and the perfect sized noble fir for the room.
So, I'm making it really easy for you today to find the fresh greens you need to get your home decorated and smelling like Christmas in no time.
