Tasteful Animal Inspired Decor For Your Home

December 03, 2025 in Decorating, Fun, Shopping

Animals play a big role in decorating! I’m not talking about animal patterned fabrics, rugs, taxidermy, or even animals in paintings and art.

Today, I’m talking about animal inspired objects to accessorize your home.

As I was walking around showrooms at Highpoint Market this fall I really started noticing the abundance of animal decor. Let’s take a look at what I found.

I just want to remind you, these are all more luxury brand showrooms, but animal decor is popular with all levels of decorating budgets.

Love a standard poodle? Here’s your seat. :-)

My MIL had a ceramic statue of a life-sized Afghan hound that she kept at the front door like he was waiting for people to come in. He was quite chipped up when she downsized and so we didn’t keep it, but that was her dog. :-)

This a cutie, from Chelsea House (a brand that carries a lot of animal decor).

Something small like this frog from Foster’s Point adds a touch of whimsy to a bookshelf.

Jonathan Adler’s colorful acrylic animals make a bold statement and look great in white surroundings.

This acrylic snail is big, about 16” high, and also retails for over $1600, from Jonathan Adler.

Here’s a cute doggie from Arteriors.

You can find animal decor in antique and vintage shops too, these items have been popular for a long time!

A vintage elephant seen at Schwung Home.

I wanted this knee-high kangaroo umbrella stand seen in the antique market at HPMKT. It was in mint condition! It would remind me of my 2 years in Australia. :-)

I have a few brass animals myself, from thrifting and inherited from my MIL. These turtles seen at the Wildwood showroom are a cute accessory atop a decorative box or stack of books.

Life sized lamb with real sheepskin coat, seen at the Chaddock showroom.

I love these geode butterflies from Roberta Schilling, a brand from Brazil.

Don’t these geode butterflies look great in front of a window?

Brass giraffes with penshell inlaid accents from Maitland Smith.

Pheasant sculptures on the tabletop in Corey Damen Jenkins’ vignette in the Maitland Smith showroom feel very regal.

Here’s another stool in the shape of a ram. Cute for an accent and you can have a seat too!

These cute animal baskets would look adorable in a child’s room or playroom, from Foster’s Point.

We walked around the corner and these furry llamas greeted us at a showroom entrance.

Traditional figurines never go out of style for traditional homes.

My MIL had a similar piece as this one below, a monkey lamp that her husband had gifted her one year with a lantern hanging from the curled tail. (She actually never liked it. :-)

Do YOU have any animal decor items in your home?

Here’s a pic of some of mine.

Vintage pheasant figurines inherited from my MIL sit on my dining room table.

One of these brass horses came from my MIL, one from a thrift shop.

Animal decor adds a touch of whimsy and personality to your home. Do any of you have any decorative animal objects in your home?

I’ve sourced some interesting animal decor below to help you shop for a few to add to your home.
