Smeg Small Appliances
Here are some small appliances I would love to have out on my countertop. I’m definitely considering adding one or two of these to my collection, if for no other reason than to use on kitchen photoshoots! :-)
I love the Smeg white kettle, in particular. I just bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She makes coffee with a French press, so a fast boil is always appreciated in the morning.
Check out the cute toaster. These come in a variety of colors.
Kitchenaid Mixer
I have never baked enough to warrant the investment in that big, heavy Kitchenaid mixer. I just don’t have the kitchen space or the skills.
This small hand held model, though, suits my kitchen much better.
Mini Food Processor
How I love a small, lightweight appliance (after having a giant instapot out on my counter off and on all year). This small Cuisinart mini chopper does the job and comes in pink too. Other colors available.
Countertop Nugget Ice Machine
Do you love nugget ice as much as I do?
Then you’re going to want to see this countertop appliance that can bring it right into your home without buying the pricey built-in model.
This is the ice machine that everyone wants who loves nugget ice.
It’s a built-in model from Scotsman, I have it in my own kitchen. Matter of fact, it was the reason I finally jumped on remodeling my kitchen when I really couldn’t afford the time to do it.
Beverage bar set up with countertop nugget ice machine
When I was in Chicago at the Monogram Appliances Showroom, they had a nice beverage bar set up for us all day. They had (my favorite) nugget ice, some refreshing infused water, and several kinds of coffee.
I love my undercounter nugget ice machine and use it every day, but if you don’t have room for a built-in model and just want some extra ice for parties or get togethers, then this countertop nugget ice machine works great!
Induction Cooking On Your Countertop
Another cool small appliance you might want to have around for your holiday entertaining is this countertop induction cooktop.
This single unit countertop device can give you the experience of fast, flame-free induction cooking, without having to change out your cooktop!
It’s a great extra cooking element and has all the wonderful features of induction cooking.
I have a client interested in induction, but one of the homeowners isn’t quite ready to give up gas. They wanted a small induction cooktop next to the gas cooktop on their island and I asked Chef Jon about that during one of our sessions with him at the Monogram showroom.
He did not advise that, by the way. He said because you cook one way on gas and another on induction, you will end up not mastering either that well. It is just a little confusing for your cooking habits, going back and forth, if you aren’t cooking all the time like he is in a kitchen.
Want to try induction cooking first without changing out your cooktop?
He did pull out this countertop cooktop model pictured above, the Paragon cooking system by First Build, as a solution though, for someone just wanting to try out induction cooking for awhile. He said this model works great and will give you a similar experience with induction for those just wanting to add in an additional cooking experience to their kitchen.
Want to try sous vide cooking?
It also gives you that sous vide cooking experience that is so popular now.
The wand inserts into a pan of water that sits on the surface of the cooking element and it communicates with it via bluetooth to maintain that water bath temperature necessary for sous vide cooking.
Not only can you add in induction cooking, you can add sous vide as well, all with one countertop appliance!

Not only would these be less pricey alternatives to the built-in versions for someone wanting to try out this way to cook or someone just needing occasional use, but I think these would make great gifts for the cook and entertainer on your list!
