I’ve just been on a trip in Oregon, on the west coast, and the views and spectacular scenery with cool weather, have me inspired to decorate for fall!
I’ve wanted to visit the Pacific northwest for many years, and we planned this trip for August with my kids, but we had to postpone due to work commitments. I am so glad we hit the beginning of fall timing like we did, as I feel like we just got the very best time for some awe-inspiring scenery and temps.
We got to wear jackets and sweaters!!! :-)
(Anyone who lives in Texas knows we won’t be doing this again for another 2-3 months!)

Fall Decor Finds
This trip really got me in the mood to decorate for fall and I’m sharing some of my fave fall finds out there on the internet today. You KNOW I’m not into cutesy stuff or signs that say “Fall Y’all” or anything too fussy, so these are all things you can live easily with at any time of year.
I’m not into a lot of seasonal decorating, but there are a few areas of the home that I do focus on when I need a change in decor.
Fireplace
Coffee table/ottoman trays
Dining table
Console at the entry
Breakfast room table and console
Sometimes, at Christmas especially, I will add a little something seasonal at my art deco hall tree too, if I’m feeling really inspired. :-)
Mostly these areas are addressed with fresh flowers or cuttings from the garden, I change out sea shells for pinecones or acorns, stuff like that. Nothing too major. I just don’t have a lot of time to decorate, plus it is a lot of energy that I could spend elsewhere, so I like to keep it simple.

I always say it is good to hone in on key areas that have a natural focus in your home, and let the other spaces ride as is.
The types of items I like to bring in are usually textural, organic, rustic or antique, and of varying sizes. I love something oversized thrown in as a sort of surprise and I will do something smooth and polished just for contrast.
