I just finished an e-design project and have gotten the homeowner’s permission to share my recommended design plan with all of you!
My clients have just now begun buying the items I suggested within the design directions I’ve given them. I can't wait to hear back from them to find out how successful they were at following my instructions and completing all the steps on their own.
Before the e-design project began . . .
My clients showed me that they already had some lovely terracotta floors, as well as a few functional and decorative pieces they wanted to hold on to and reuse in their newly e-designed room: 1. The modern secretary to the left; and 2. The carved wood trunk to the right.
They also let me know how they wanted the space to feel light, comfortable, and for me to use American made products as much as possible.

Furniture Selections From American-Made Sources
Furniture from Lee Industries and Hickory Chair perfectly fit the bill for this project because these two manufacturers take great pride in their American made products.
Highlighted Items:
B. The sofa has a washable slipcover, great for a family that needs durability, and it help set the tone for the light, comfy feeling they desired.
C. The whitewashed oak coffee table provides a fresh backdrop for some colorful accessories featured in the graphic below and reinforces the casual, comfortable ambience.
D. Because the backs of the modern wingback chairs are turned to the entrance to the room, I made sure they were dressed in a pretty pattern (of course, American made fabric was used!) that featured some nice geometrics.
A. The ikat rug from FLOR -- made in America, out of recycled materials -- is a great choice for families who need great durability. All you have to do if it's ever stained is detach the stained tile and replace it with a new one.
Finally . . .
We also included some well chosen accessories (pictured to the right) that would add some color and lightness. A few custom items were also recommended, like the pillow fabrics, for a one of kind touch.
My Hand-Drawn Sketch
This post was published several years ago and I no longer offer eDesign services.
However, I DO offer a Q&A type design service via email that is very popular and can really help homeowners where they are stuck in their own projects.
More about that service at the link.
