Today I’m sharing one of my projects constructed last spring.
You’ve seen my sketch of this bathroom on my blog before. This was part of the design presentation I gave to my clients.
Our goal:
Make this typical, traditional, builder-grade bathroom, all clean-lined and modern. We wanted to update the fixtures and eliminate some of the odd angles in the ceiling which chopped up the space.
Look below to see how things were before we went to work.
My clients wanted a walk-in shower, a beautiful tub, and a spa-like ambience.
What do you think?
Is it done?
With linear, clean-lined tile, cabinets which seem to float, louvered doors, and some unique details, I think we gave them exactly what they wanted.
The modification to the ceiling using the dropped and flat look over the bathing area, gives it a more intimate feel, whereas the center area got a lift with an arch. It directs your eye to stop at the new louvered doors. That warm contrast of the gilded light fixture really adds some style and class.
Kudos to my clients, who managed the construction of this project themselves. It’s a big job, but now they are enjoying their new bathroom and it looks just like I designed it!
