I just had a reader ask me about her black refrigerator and range and what she could do about them. She didn't like them but they were still in good condition and wanted to know if there was a way to disguise them, like change out the color some way.
If they aren't "panel ready", or made to have an interchangeable panel on the front, it is likely that they can't be changed dramatically in an "official" way.
However, I have seen my share of wallpapered and painted refrigerators ever so often and although I probably wouldn't recommend it in a kitchen remodel where people are redoing a lot and investing in their kitchen, I do think it is kinda cute and might be great for a little MIL suite, a beach cottage, a rental, or some kind of quirky flat. It might be a great DIY temporary fix.
Take a look at these nifty examples.
With all the great temporary, peel and stick wallpaper out there today, I could see this as a perfect solution for a rental apartment with a yucky fridge. Hmm, maybe my daughter's apartment fridge could use a fix up like this?
It definitely makes the fridge a "statement" piece. Kind of like these refrigerators, below, from Smeg do.

I'm at KBIS, the national kitchen and bath show this week, learning all about new refrigeration products and everything else kitchen and bath. Follow me on Instagram for my best finds from the show floor.
Here are some of the fun, colorful appliances I found a few years ago at KBIS.
UPDATE: I just got back from KBIS2018 and look what I found there. Move over kitchen ranges.....the refrigerator just became the star of the kitchen!
