What is it about writing, about artfully designed words, about script that intrigues us so?
You’d think we’d get enough of it on our computers, our phones, our other digital devices, at school, work and at home, because we're constantly reading.
Talking through type - it's how we communicate nowadays. And I think it's beautiful! (...The art and technique of arranging written characters, that is.)
That representation of communication, using letter-styles old and new, speaks to us. It's everywhere, on walls and everything around us, constantly reminding us of our past and inspiring us for our future.
Perhaps it’s the delicate curves and flourishes, perhaps the uneven line weight, perhaps the hint of words in a foreign language you might not quite understand, or perhaps it's the personal / human touch it represents that we find so appealing.
No matter what it is that draws you in to drawn communication, we all find inspiration through the words, phrases, and expressions it conveys.
And if you're like me, someone who appreciates a beautiful interior, you probably find writing as decoration, as pattern, as movement, a conversation you'll excitedly engage with night and day.
So go ahead. It’s okay. Write on the walls. The furniture. The floors.
Make a statement. Literally.
