This is soooo good.
Using old doors, of all kinds, in new ways, in new construction.
It gives a home character.
A link to the past.
It's right there in front of your face, at your fingertips.
Where you can touch the age.
The place where many hands have touched before.
And worn down the edges to a smoothness.
That cannot easily be replicated.
Don’t you wonder who?
What was behind that door when they were installed for the first time?
What sweet, little woman was so proud of her cabinets? Her new doors?
Because they were laboriously hand-made back then, you know.
With love and care.
And they deserve a rebirth. A new life.
In a new place, in need of a link to the past.
They deserve to be loved . . . Again.
