I just wrapped up another client’s project: a remodel of a kitchen and master bathroom.
I’m about to do the photoshoot and I’ve been gathering some items from my styling closet as well as from my own cupboards for styling the shoot.
This is a kitchen done in a country or cottage style. We were going for something gutsy, real, and homespun, without all the cutesiness we’ve come to expect from this type of style. It has a nice, homey feel that was really brought home by our detailing of some of its special features, which include:
A farmhouse sink; some buffalo check fabric; weathered wood floors; gorgeous soapstone counters; interesting brackets; beadboard paneling; antique pewter-finish cup pulls; and seed glass panels in the cabinet doors.
...All these items go a long way to help establish this desired style and the personality of our homeowners.
I gave a sneak peek about some of the renovation work we did HERE and...
I’ve been looking around on the internet for some more styling ideas and came up with these charming finds that would fit perfectly into any cottage or country style kitchen!
Items like these simply shaped, chalkboard canisters:
Or these chunky cups, perfect for tea or hot chocolate on a cold, winter day:
This Staub teakettle is a quaint, yet classic, cast iron piece to sit out on the stovetop:
I might even have a steaming blackberry cobbler cooling out on the island in this pan:
No, the cooking thing ain’t happening! ;-)
But I do love the ambience it creates. Do you agree?
Overall, these items kinda make you want to visit the country, doesn’t it?
Or maybe bake a cobbler?
Either way, make sure you grab these items for your modern country kitchen today!
