"Yikes!"
That’s what I first thought when I realized this craft was creeping back into our lives.
My daughter -- who, at heart, is really a child of the 60s and 70s -- has recently purchased some very high priced crocheted items from Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and some flea market somewhere.
Of course, she could've just asked me for my stuff. I would have pulled out my grandmother’s afghan, a couple of pillows, and even my amateurish attempts at a crochet project or two from my junior high years that are all buried in a storage closet.
But then I remembered: Mom's don't know what's cool.
Well excuse me for not knowing that something I never thought would be cool again is actually cool ... yet again! I mean, hooow did crochet go from being grandma-ish to an art form? Bohemian! Or, dare I say, hipster!
I mean ... Really?! This is what all the "cool kids" are doing these days?
I guess this just serves as proof that all trends of the past will eventually come around again, and that nothing will ever be gone forever.
Well, except mauve (...I HOPE! ;-)
(Okay, I'm not a crochet aficianado, so there might actually be some knitting shown below too.....but it's the same idea.....right? One is done with two needles and the other with one? I'm sure the real crochet people are cringing right now! But really, this stuff is gorgeous! :)
