If I was buying a dining table today for myself, this is what I would buy:
I’ve loved this table for-EVER. And every time I see it in a project -- in someone else’s home -- I get jealous!
While I love the benches too, I don’t think I’d do the bench/table combination in my dining room. That’s just a little too matchy for me, and I like to lean back after dinner and talk.
I prefer it with some funky vintage chairs, some antique stylized chairs, some big upholstered chairs, some metal industrial chairs - well, just about any chair.
I’ve proposed it for a project now, one that has a strong modern vibe with some warm, rustic elements. It’s perfect for that.
Down below, I’m sharing how I would design my dining room today, IF I could get a Big Sur. Simple, a little rustic, very chic, and with my favorite color as an accent - cobalt blue.
I’d want two of those light fixtures, those upholstered chairs with arms in the Robert Allen linen blue fabric, some artistic dinnerware, and I already have an Aalto vase. :-)
Darn it! No one is paying me to say this, to rec these beautiful goods! Crate & Barrel turned me down as an affiliate partner! I guess I’m not a big enough blogger ... yet! ;-)

The Round Top Antique Show, held every fall and spring, is just about an hour and half drive away from where I live and work (The Woodlands, Texas), so I would be crazy NOT to go.
